It is important to be aware of all national and local codes.  Fire stop caulking is required.

Rough in for an exterior speaker can use a junction box but sometimes just a wire will do!

In wall speaker rough in kits will make it possible for the dry wall installers to cut your holes for you!  Additionally, you will be able to find your numbered wire hanging out of the hole.  A little planning and the use of the right rough in accessories can make the final installation much easier.
